Bringing motorsports to life with an unprecedented level of immersion

At EKTACOM, we design custom software systems around digital video. For one of our research projects, we are exploring the possibility of bringing motorsports to life with an unprecedented level of immersion.

To achieve this, we needed a motion platform with actuators offering six degrees of freedom, capable of reproducing strong accelerations and high-speed cornering. This meant large motion amplitudes and high displacement speeds.

We quickly identified Motion XP, with the Prime platform ticking all the boxes. Plus, three additional advantages:
