Is the use of ballast mandatory?

Unless the platform is solidly fixed to the ground (16 mm diameter holes for minimum M12 dowels), the feet must be weighted down with suitable weights (minimum 8x20 kilos).

This can be done either by making molded concrete discs, or by using any other commercially available ballast such as weightlifting weights.

There is a real risk of an incident or accident with a platform that is not ballasted or firmly attached to the ground.
